For over 30 years, Winnakee Land Trust has worked in partnership with private landowners
to conserve and sustainably manage some of the Hudson Valley’s most vulnerable lands,
including thousands of acres of open space, forests, farms, wetlands and watersheds,
and wildlife habitats that are critical to the region’s environmental health.
Winnakee protects threatened land, watersheds, habitat, and endangered forests, to safeguard what is unique and irreplaceable in The Hudson Valley.
Our sustainable management plans are a nature-based solution to improve our region’s ecological health and help forests in decline regenerate naturally.
Winnakee connects the community to the lands we protect through trail access and programs to inspire engaged communities.
Winnakee recognizes that forest lands are vital to NY’s ecological and economic well-being, and that saving them is an indispensable investment in our future.
Restoring forests – and the ecosystem services they provide for all life – is essential to maintaining the special quality of life we enjoy here in the Hudson Valley.
Learn MoreWinnakee is committed to bridging more ways for the public to connect with and benefit from the bounty of our region. We have developed over 20 miles of trails that take visitors through some of our region’s most rewarding natural areas protected by Winnakee.
