For over 30 years, Winnakee Land Trust has worked in partnership with private landowners to conserve some of the Hudson Valley’s most critical vulnerable habitats and open spaces, including thousands of acres of open space, forests, farms, wetlands and watersheds, and wildlife habitat that are critical to the region’s communities.
Through our protection of threatened land, watersheds, habitat, and endangered forests, we safeguard what is unique and irreplaceable in The Hudson Valley.
Thousands of acres of land that are vulnerable to development. Our sustainable management plans are a nature-based solution to improve our region’s ecological health.
Community is the cornerstone of Winnakee’s conservation work, and connecting the community to the lands we protect is at the heart of our mission.
Winnakee recognizes that forest lands are vital to NY’s ecological and economic well-being, and that saving them is an indispensable investment in our future.
Restoring forests – and the ecosystem services they provide for all life – is essential to maintaining the special quality of life we enjoy here in the Hudson Valley.
