Located in the Town of Stanford, this stunning 105-acre landscape includes 3.3 miles of looped trails that take visitors through forested lands, meadows, buttonbush swamps and to a view of Mt.Beacon. It is one of the most significant ecological areas in the region with habitats for wetland animals and three Species of Special Concern in NYS: New England Cottontail, Golden-Winged Warbler, and the American Woodcock. This property is owned and managed by the Winnakee Land Trust since 2020, and was purchased with help from The 1971 Foundation and the Anna Maria & Stephen Kellen Foundation. It is also a strong example of active forest management stewardship plans underway by Winnakee to restore vulnerable wildlife habitats and enhance forest resilience.
