Winnakee Land Trust has purchased 279 acres of forest, farmland, and waterways spanning Gallatin, Pine Plains, and Milan, permanently protecting roughly a mile of the Roeliff Jansen Kill.

The newly established Mount Ross Wildlife Sanctuary includes land assembled over nearly four decades and ranked among the Hudson Valley’s most ecologically valuable and climate-resilient forests. Public access will be limited to registered educational programs, stewardship work, and research.
