This Earth Week: Volunteer to Extend Saw Kill Trails

WHERE:

Meet at trailhead on Fir St off Aspinwall Rd. Parking is on the park side of the road.
Directions to Fir St Trailhead: From Red Hook Rec Park West, turn left onto Linden Ave. Turn left onto Knox Rd. Turn left onto Alder St, which will turn into Aspinwall Rd. Turn right onto Fir St. Parking will be on the left side of the street.

Join Jen Adams, Assistant Director of Land Stewardship, and Samantha Moy, Saw Kill Trail Contractor, for a volunteer day to extend the Saw Kill Trails in Red Hook, NY.

Volunteers will help clear brush from the future trail using hand tools. Some of the trail goes through wet areas, so volunteers should prepare to work in mud or shallow standing water.

Volunteers should bring plenty of water and wear long pants, water-proof closed-toe shoes, and clothes they do not mind getting dirty. Gloves and tools provided. Kids under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Walk-in’s welcome day of but pre-registration preferred for planning purposes.
