Guided Walk at Mount Ross Wildlife Sanctuary

REGISTERJoin Winnakee CEO Bob Davis for a guided walk on Winnakee’s newest property, the Mount Ross Wildlife Sanctuary. This event is geared toward landowners and will be led through the lens of tackling first steps in a land management plan for streamside parcels. Forests are increasingly recognized for their value in helping to filter clean water. This walk will help landowners identify opportunities to improve water quality on their land through land management techniques and offer guidance on how to prioritize them as well as insights into resources available to help you steward your land towards this goal.
Winnakee Land Trust purchased the newly established Mount Ross Wildlife Sanctuary in June of this year, which includes 279 acres of forest, farmland, and waterways spanning Gallatin, Pine Plains, and Milan, permanently protecting roughly a mile of the Roeliff Jansen Kill. The Sanctuary includes land assembled over nearly four decades and ranked among the Hudson Valley’s most ecologically valuable and climate-resilient forests.
