Every autumn, community volunteers come together to build brush pile habitats at Winnakee Nature Preserve. The habitats help keep forest-dwelling animals hidden from prey and protected from cold weather in the winter months.
Building brush pile habitats is fun and easy! In the past, the project has been used to help Cub Scouts earn their Conservation Badge. If you are interested in organizing a habitat build at the Preserve for your organization or club, please email Karissa Stokdal at firstname.lastname@example.org.
