Become a steward of the future. Through your support of Winnakee Land Trust, you can protect our farms, forests, and wetlands.  Give today and know that you are part of something bigger than all of us.

The land we seek to protect is not only vulnerable but truly irreplaceable. Please don’t take for granted that northern Dutchess will always be rural and beautiful. Contribute today.

Please give as generously as you can to help us achieve both new initiatives and ongoing land protection efforts. An annual membership gift is so appreciated. You can go a step further and become a sustaining member through a monthly $20 credit card donation. Give 75 cents  a day to protect the natural and agricultural resources we all depend on. Isn’t that worth 75 cents a day to you? Just click here.

Winnakee Land Trust has protected more than 2,300 acres of land, with more land preservation projects in the works. We’ve established miles of public-access trails and established two popular parks. We are proud of our reputation for community outreach, for protecting natural habitats, and for enhancing outdoor recreational opportunities.

Some of what we’re excited about in 2015:

  • Deploying our Trails Coordinator Bryan Roberts, who’s been working in every town in northern Dutchess County to assist in trails planning, thanks to a grant from the Land Trust Alliance Conservation Partnership Program.
  • Advocating to protect the scenic views and limit powerline expansion, as a founding partner in the Hudson Valley Smart Energy Coalition.
  • Expanding the Winnakee Environmental Education Scholarship Program, funding 7 high school students to attend DEC Summer Camp.
  • Debuting our guide to local invasive species, Dutchess County Invaders.
  • Welcoming school groups and individuals to the Winnakee Educational Arboretum, part of the 102-acre Winnakee Nature Preserve.
  • Mapping scenic resources across northern Dutchess, as a partner in a DEC Estuary Program/Hudson River Valley Greenway project.

You may want to be part of the Winnakee Open Field Society, pledged donors who receive “everything Winnakee,” including invitations to exclusive events, gala tickets, sponsorship listing, and much more. We welcome you to join this special group and get to know some individuals who really make things happen.

Everything we do is possible because of your support. For this, we are deeply grateful.
