There are many ways you can help Winnakee Land Trust continue the work we are doing to preserve the most scenic and productive lands in Dutchess County.

Winnakee members are an essential source of support and membership is the best way to stay connected to the Winnakee Mission.

We have listened to our members and have expanded the benefits of Membership! Along with 2 print newsletters, 4 enewsletters, and member benefits below (including the FREE member events listed) Winnakee is working with Membership Partners (Walkway Over the Hudson, Mohonk Preserve, FDR Presidential Library and Museum, and more!) to expand your benefits. In addition, we have added a special membership category for students so that our programs can remain accessible to the entire community.

Rather than make a one-time donation, you can opt for monthly giving. It’s easy to do and ensures that Winnakee has a greater measure of financial stability in its annual budget. Your recurring monthly donation ensures that we will continue to protect our farms, forests, and wetlands. Click here to become a SUSTAINING MEMBER (click the ‘make this a monthly recurring donation’ button.)

You can donate with confidence, knowing that you are contributing to an accredited, effective, fiscally responsible organization that’s having a real impact on local land and our quality of life.

Often companies will double – or even triple – their employees’ charitable contributions, increasing the impact of your gift. Some employers also match gifts made by retirees, spouses, and board members. Check whether your employer offers this benefit! By taking advantage of the matching gift program at your workplace, you can double or even triple your contribution to Winnakee.

Send Corporate Matching-Gift Documents to:

By giving appreciated property like stocks or bonds, you can avoid paying capital gain taxes on the appreciation, receive a tax deduction for the full value of the gift, and support Winnakee Land Trust. When Winnakee receives a stock gift, our policy is to sell the stock as soon as possible after receipt. If you wish to donate stock, please contact Ellen Henneberry here or at 845-876-4213 x4.

Donors age 70½ or older can contribute up to $100,000 of IRA assets directly to one or more charities and have the gift count toward their annual required distributions from the IRA and removed from their taxable income.

By including Winnakee Land Trust in your estate and retirement planning, you are making a legacy gift that supports our promise of perpetual land conservation. To learn more about options for making a planned gift, please contact Ellen Henneberry here or at 845-876-4213 x4.
