ANNUAL TOUR OF HISTORIC BARNS AND WORKING FARMS

Explore the past, enjoy the present and celebrate our glorious Hudson Valley farmland and open spaces!

Saturday, September 16, 2017
Tour 11am – 4pm. 10am – 4pm for Cyclists.
After Party 4:30 – 6 pm.

This annual event has grown to be a northern Dutchess County signature event!   Equipped with a map & information guide, guests will travel by car, motorcycle, or bicycle* on this self-guided tour giving you a unique perspective of several area historic barns and farms.  The tour will begin at the Southlands Foundation’s recently restored South Barn in Rhinebeck and visit eight additional beautiful properties throughout northern Dutchess County.

The tour will end with a barn rocking reception at Heermance Farm featuring local food by Chocolate Mousse Catering, locally brewed beer by From the Ground Brewery, wine by Schatzi Wine importers, and live music by the Steven Michael Pague Ensemble.

Please begin the tour no later than 12:30 p.m. Docents will guide visitors through each site on the tour. A mapped brochure outlines the self-guided route. All barns close at 4:00 p.m. Southlands Foundation is located at 5771 Route 9, Rhinebeck, NY.  Closing Reception at Heermance Farm’s Historic Barn is located at 433 West Kerley Corners Road, Tivoli, NY.

TICKETS: $50 per person in advance, children under 12 are free. All current Winnakee Members are offered a $5 discount—Please contact our office.

IF YOU ARE DRIVING THE ROUTE:
Please come to Southlands Foundation’s SOUTH BARN at GPS address 5768 Route 9 between 11am and 12:30pm on Saturday, September 16. This driveway is .2 miles south of the Southlands’ main entrance on route 9. Here you will receive your event bracelet, the program booklet, and a route map. We have already emailed you the kmz files and other gps files for those of you who have the knowledge to work with technology. Please note: There are spots on the route that do not have cell service where you will need to rely on the map and driving directions.

IF YOU ARE CYCLING THE ROUTE:
AND you are registered prior to 9/15/17, please come to Heermance Farm at 433 Kerley Corners Road in Tivoli, NY. For your convenience, we are offering Shuttle Service to pre-registered cyclists from the final stop on the tour at Heermance Farm to the start of the tour at Southlands in Rhinebeck. Shuttle to Southlands leaves from Heermance Farm at 9:30 a.m. SHARP. This will allow you to finish the tour at the after-party location with your vehicle.
